From the Bedfordshire Times, 7 April 1988

" Ravensden Women's Institute spent their March meeting in the company of Mrs. Maureen Watling who gave a demonstration of patchwork and quilting. This fascinating art dates back to the early settlers of America. Maureen showed many and varied patterns that enjoy unusual names such as Flypie and Cartwheel. Members and friends left at the end of the evening feeling that they would all like to have a go at this colourful hobby. "
