From the Bedfordshire Times, 2 February 1979

" At the monthly meeting Ravensden members heard about The National Trust and saw colour slides of properties which they could visit on their holidays.

Mr.D.Bruce Edwards talked about the different types of property owned by The Trust: lakes, mountains, open moorland as well as parks and fine country houses.

Members also heard about the voluntary work done by young people during their Summer Holidays.

Plans are going well for the May Fair and items for stalls are being collected each month. A visit to the Spode china factory is being arranged for June. Ideas for next year's programme were discussed before the meeting closed. "
