From the Bedfordshire Times, 1 February

" The Ravensden WI held their open meeting in the school on January 15, with Mrs Edna Duddy in the chair, when 33 members were present. Members, husbands and friends enjoyed their social evening when a tasty pizza supper organised by committee members was enjoyed by one and all. Once everyone was suitably fed and watered it was eyes down, all systems go for the beetle drive. Susan Farnan and her playgroup children were quieter than the adults once the game had started. Dice flying around, shrieks of excitement, laughter, and disappointment and yes, even the word 'cheat ' was uttered!

The committee has been concerned that a pizza evening may have encouraged comments such as Cowabunga, Hey Dude etc. and may even have had people appearing in their headbands. But we worried unnecessarily, it was not Turtle Power that hit Ravensden on Tuesday evening but Beetlemania. "
